A friend of mine was having a talk with her granddaughter. I tought it was very sweet and I wanted to share it with you. Thanks Quida!
Out of the blue last night, my granddaughter, Lauren, who is 6 almost 7 years old, said to me, "Meme, can u call Nana?" Nana, being my mother, who passed away 2 years ago, that we miss terribly. Caught sooo off guard, I thought for maybe a second and replied, " in heaven, yes, I talk to her ALL of the time!" Well, Lauren says with excitement, "YOU DO???" So, then being the Meme I am...I think ...ok smarty pants, explain this!!! So I said, "you know Nana is in heaven and she is an angel now." She said, "yes." I said well, you know like when u say ur prayers and talk to God, I do the same thing with Nana. So when I need to talk to Nana, I just say a little prayer. Well, she said, how does she talk back? I thought for minute and said, well, you know all of the things that Nana ever taught me are in little folders filed in a special place in my heart so when I talk to her in my prayers, she reminds me where to look for whatever we are talking about. And that is soo true, 6 year old terms or not! You NEVER forget what you learn from your mother (or father)! You never stray far from your loved ones and u can always dig down deep and find the answer, whether it is what you want to hear at the moment or not.!!! Children, old and young, LISTEN to your parents! Respect them...They love you unconditionally...Never have regrets. Life is too short...Sorry, i got sidetracked just a little!
